Collaborated with David Cieslak, Chief Data Scientist, to develop an open-source solution on the Google Colab platform for recognizing and detecting numbers from car license plates using deep learning frameworks, achieving 90% accuracy.This hands-on project immersed me in computer vision, deep learning, and system integration. I navigated the intricacies of image processing, object detection, contour analysis, and text recognition, mastering the delicate balance between high accuracy and real-time processing. This project made me explore various libraries like Easyocr, OpenCV, YOLOv8 and Pytesseract-ocr libraries to improve accuracy, which surpassed the performance of license recognition software like PlateRecognizer etc.
